Orientation

Students will learn about their legal obligations as a nonimmigrant student in the U.S. and other important information related to being a student at UMD.  It will be a great opportunity for you to meet other new students and to learn your way around campus before classes start.  All international students have a hold on their student record that will not be released until they have completed both online and in-person orientation requirements.  Students who fail to complete these requirements will not be able to register for classes in the future.

Please bring the following documents with you to orientation:

  • Passport and visa stamp
  • I-20 or DS-2019
  • I-94
  • Previous school's I-20 or DS-2019 (if you attended another school in the U.S.)
  • University of Minnesota ID number (on your admission letter)
