Students will learn about their legal obligations as a nonimmigrant student in the U.S. and other important information related to being a student at UMD. It will be a great opportunity for you to meet other new students and to learn your way around campus before classes start. All international students have a hold on their student record that will not be released until they have completed both online and in-person orientation requirements. Students who fail to complete these requirements will not be able to register for classes in the future.
Please bring the following documents with you to orientation:
- Passport and visa stamp
- I-20 or DS-2019
- I-94
- Previous school's I-20 or DS-2019 (if you attended another school in the U.S.)
- University of Minnesota ID number (on your admission letter)
