As a student on a nonimmigrant visa, you must have the following documents as evidence of your legal status:
- Passport
- Visa (if not Canadian)
- I-94
- I-20 or DS-2019
Things to keep in mind about your documents:
- Be sure to keep your documents in a safe place!
- Keep copies of all your documents in case they are lost or stolen.
- Whenever you get new documents (passport, visa, etc.), please give a copy to ISS or come to the office so they can make one for you.
- Keep copies of all old documents, including old I-20s or DS-2019.
